Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care in St Joseph’s is the ethos through which our pupils develop and learn to their optimum potential. We provide the opportunity for all pupils to develop into responsible, self-aware, confident, and capable young people equipped to cope with the challenges of the 21st century.

St Joseph’s believes Pastoral Care must form the basis of, and permeate, all aspects of the curriculum.

Each class has a dedicated Form Teacher who takes responsibility for monitoring attendance, punctuality and academic progress. This Form Teacher offers both whole class and individual support to pupils, providing guidance and celebrating success.

The Year Head has the responsibility for supporting and encouraging the academic and pastoral development of all pupils within their year group. Each Year Head is responsible for coordinating their team of form teachers. In St Joseph’s we adopt an ‘open door’ policy where pupils always have someone to talk to. The Year Teacher plays a pivotal role in strengthening the relationships between home and school.

Mr John Mulholland (Senior Teacher) is our designated Child Protection teacher. Our full child protection policy is available by contacting the College.
